This project has been quite challenging overall. Visualising the design on a product while creating it is quite difficult and it's unknown whether the design will work until it's all put together. That being said, I definitely enjoyed creating something with a tangible outcome and pushing my skills to produce this outcome.
The product photography was an aspect of the project that I really enjoyed and hope to continue on with other briefs. Organising and planning a photoshoot takes time but the outcome was exactly what I had in mind and the photos can be applied to a range of different deliverables. I also created a website for this brief which isn't necessarily my strongest skill. Discovering Adobe Xd and using a new software was refreshing. I found Adobe Xd easy to use and it helped me visualise my website in a way no other software at the moment can. The website itself could be improved upon with extra UX techniques, though I feel I created the best design for my target audience with my own basic skill set.
I managed to stick to the strict time plan set for this brief and have everything finished by the end of April. Giving myself deadlines and booking things in advance like print slots helped to ensure that I had everything ready on time.
I feel that if I had more time, the design of the whisky label could have been pushed further. The brief was to create a design that modernises whisky and appeals to women of ages 25-40, encouraging them to drink more whisky. I feel that the design is still quite traditional (though this is an important factor as the value of whisky is based upon how long it ages), but has a fresh and fun feel. I feel I have met the brief, making a more feminine and fresh design when compared to the rest of the whisky market, but as a stand alone product it could have been pushed further.
