lights / research

To get an idea of existing photography books and their layouts, I've undertaken some research to see what is effective:




These examples do not use full bleed imagery and have a lot of empty space on the page, allowing the images to breath within the spread. They have all chosen white borders, possibly so that it doesn't distract from the images or overpower them as a colour might.



Sometimes full bleed images are used but usually this is only done on one page with the opposite left sparse with some text involved. As my book will purely be images there will be no need to consider type layout. Something that will need to be considered is the binding of the book, because if full bleed images are to be used then the book will need to be able to lay flat.
