The target audience of PINK magazine is young, impressional teenagers - mainly female. The reason for the publication existing is to challenge what is already on the market and educate young people on issues that are important and relevant in their life. Content includes information about the LQBTQ+ society and an article on self care. Having a publication readily available that discusses these topics will help normalise specific issues for readers and reassure them.
The magazine also features more light-hearted content such as fashion articles and music reviews that are relevant to the audience. This means we must design the magazine with these aspects in mind and ensure that the tone of voice is relevant to all of the content.
Identifying the audience early on allows me and Lo to create a brand and identity for PINK that is suitable and relevant to readers.
