pear / printing considerations

As Pear is a magazine it should be printed professionally. Previously, Pear was printed using the university facilities and staple bound. This method was certainly cheaper but it lost the professional effect.

Pear would be best suited to a perfect bound style with quite a thin (120gsm) stock that is suitable for children to draw on. Perfect binding allows the magazine to lay flat and removes potentially dangerous staples.

The cover should be slightly thicker as this will keep the magazine together and look professional when the magazine is bound. A glossy cover would suit the design but a satin cover may be more suitable for the audience as it should be able to withstand dirt and fingerprints.

The budget for printing is around £50 as £45 was spent on the plushies.
