Stock considerations:
The stock for the publication should be thick and glossy to complement the images. With a total of 36 pages, a thicker stock will make the book sturdier and easier to hold. The inserts should be printed on thicker stock to make sure they are bound properly and sit within the spread.
Binding considerations:
As the design uses a lot of black ink, folding the stock to bind it would make the ink crack and look unsightly. A perfect bound would be suitable though this type of bind is expensive and takes professional attention. A Japanese bind would be the most suitable as this allows full spread of the pages without folding them.
Printing:
Including the inserts took away from the actual image underneath and made the publication feel bulky and difficult to open. A thinner stock may have been more appropriate but I decided to take the inserts out all together. They assign a mood to each image without allowing the person reading the book to have their own experience and form their own moods and experiences with the images.
