confectionary packaging / identity development

To begin developing the brand I started with coming up with a simple identity outside the constraints of a net for the packaging.

I used a simple, bold sans serif in white to stand out from the bright background. The colour scheme reflects the flavour of the sweets. The confetti is part of the visual identity of the brand. From this, I decided that the identity needs to be developed further in the shape of the net. As printing on plastic will be difficult/expensive to produce, I looked into packaging that would be suitable for sweets that could be produced with card.

This kind of box is suitable for hard boiled sweets. The box can be easily grabbed off the shelf and the sweets are secure inside. I found a net or a similar kind of box and started to design to the correct dimensions:

I experimented with gradients and thought about having streamers feature on the packaging too. Each flavour will have it's own colour scheme so they stand out from each other and display continuity across the brand.

After looking at gradients the design looked too busy, especially with more confetti to be added. I moved away from gradients and looked at more block colours. The white square also symbolises a clear section where the sweets will be visible.

Once I had a basic structure for the front of the pack, I decided to move onto creating them with the net to get an idea of how they would look when fully formed.
