The booklet overall is 50 pages including front and back cover. The size is A5 so it can act as a pocket guide, and a large size could make the booklet appear thinner.
Binding:
The binding of the booklet is important to the overall aesthetic. The most simplistic looking would be either perfect binding or staple. Other binds are saddle stitch, exposed spine or case bind. A perfect bind is more suited to an encyclopaedia as it's more professional and expensive looking.
Printing:
As the booklet is 50 pages a thick-ish stock (170-200 gsm) for the inside may be suitable to give the impression it's thick and full of information. The cover should be thicker still, to keep the inside pages safe.
